As long as I’m singin,’ there’s a bell up in my brain that’s ringin,’ makin’ a crazy ding dong. And if this band don’t desert me, then there’s nothing in the world can hurt me. Long as I’m singin’ my song.
— Bobby Darin

Welcome to my new website! Thanks for visiting, I hope you enjoy your stay. Here's a few details about me.

Growing up, music was always around. My late father, Billy Hunt, (see links below) was a trumpet player from back in the day and he raised me on jazz, swing and classical music. Though my parents divorced when I was a baby, Daddy and I remained very close, and he's my biggest musical inspiration.

I took a few years of piano lessons (actually many years!) but never took to it. One day when I was about 13, I was clunking along at a lesson,  not really playing what was on the page, and singing along to the melody. I think the song was "Shenandoah." Mrs. Cogswell said, "Stop! Just sing this and I'll play it." Like she couldn't stand it, poor woman. I was really bad. Anyway, I sang the tune and she said, "That's what you should be doing." The rest is history...and btw, Shenandoah is still one of my favorite songs.

I grew up in Great Falls, Montana, with my wonderful, supportive and saintly Mommy, in a double wide trailer on Gore Hill. I grew up with wind, wheat, dirt roads and pick up trucks. My favorite gifts were a snowmobile, a motorcycle, and a .22. I still have the bike, and the rifle. Childhood was a country song.

I knew I wanted to give my life to gigging one day when, at my buddy Merle Travis Peterson's house on Bootlegger Trail, we were messing around with a melody..."Blue skies stay with me now...cuz I can't stand the rain..." and it just hit me. I couldn't imagine doing anything else except THAT. It was magical, serendipitous, life-changing. 25 years later, THAT has taken many forms. Life’s newest adventure is our move to beautiful Grove, OK. We couldn’t be happier! I’ve reformed the band with the hottest players the Heartland has to offer. Check out the SHOWS page for details!

Country bands with powerful female lead singers are a tradition, going back to Patsy Cline and Loretta Lynn during the genre’s golden age. While there are numerous “modern country” bands now with female singers in the spotlight few are in bands that play with a genuine feel for the dusty country roads and beer-soaked floors of honky-tonk bars in towns like Bakersfield. Enter Three Chord Justice, enter Liz Grace.

The performance was spectacular as it was tender, delivered on a tiny flame but igniting fireworks in our hearts.

Liz Grace sings these dusty, deepfried and well-written tales with lilting ease and genuine accessibility.

In the end, I'm a simple gal. I love to sing. It makes me feel peaceful, powerful, and ecstatic all at the same time. I'm blessed to know why I'm on the planet, and lucky to have amazing players backing me up. Let me share the magic with you. Thank you for visiting. Surf around, shoot me an email, and see you at a show! Until then, check out the vids below of my Daddy, Billy Hunt. Music is in my blood!!
